Remove author info
Remove the hidden author name, title, dates and software name from a PDF before you send it.
Removes the title, author, software and dates stored in the file, and the author names on comments. It does not remove names written on the pages, information inside images, or what was typed into form fields.
Your files are never sent anywhere.
How to use it
- Drop one PDF file.
- Press Run. There is nothing to set.
- Download the cleaned PDF. Your PDF app's document properties will show the author and title empty.

Questions and answers
What exactly is removed?
The document information (title, author, subject, keywords, software and dates) and other hidden data apps leave behind. Page content, links and form fields are untouched.
Does it remove text or images on the pages?
No. Visible content is not touched. To hide text on the page for good, use Black out.
Can a viewer still tell which software made the file?
The software field is gone. The look of the text can still hint at the source, as with any PDF.
